Homegrown Hero’s Walking Trail

The City of Gainesville recognizes the Medal of Honor Recipients by having the Parks & Recreation Department plant live red oak trees for each Recipient on their first visit to Gainesville. There will be a dedication of newly-planted trees on the Friday April 26th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend this short program at Gainesville’s Home Grown Hero Walking Trail.

Directions:  Enter on Main Street between Lindsay and Denison streets or you can access the trail at midway points at Garnett and Taylor. The trail is accessible to the disabled at Howeth and Moss streets.
